Articles
I am a member of the Association of British Science Writers.
New Scientist: I wrote regularly on biomedical science and women in science during the 1980s and 1990s. The most recent articles were 'Mad brains and the prion heresy'; 'Parkinson's: a suitable case for treatment?'; and 'The human worm'.
Oxford Today: I became science editor from the first volume in 1989, and had a stint as editor from 2000-2007. Until recently I continued to contribute articles on science and related issues. Some of the more recent ones are 'The shape of things to come?' (Hilary 2008), 'All eyes on the heavens' (Michaelmas 2008) and 'A refuge for the persecuted, release for the fettered mind' (Trinity 2009).
